For most domestic jobs, yes. A skip hire in Manchester typically costs £150–£350 for the skip alone, plus you may need a council permit (£40–£80) if placing it on the road, and you fill it yourself. With Clearway, our team does all the loading — from £99.99 all-in — with no permit needed, no skip blocking your drive for days, and no waiting for collection.

No — our team will load loose items. You don't need to bag everything up beforehand. However, for very small loose items (soil, broken glass, small debris), it's helpful if they're in bags or a container to avoid waste scattering. Heavy items like rubble are fine loose.
Yes. Clearway Waste & Recycling holds Environment Agency Waste Carrier Licence CBDU368298. You can verify this on the Environment Agency public register. We provide a waste transfer note with every collection as your legal proof of responsible disposal.
Why does this matter? Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, you have a duty of care for your waste even after you hand it over. If you use an unlicensed carrier and they fly-tip your waste, you could face a fine of up to £5,000 in a Magistrates Court or an unlimited fine in Crown Court.
Yes. A waste transfer note (WTN) is provided with every collection. This is a legal document required under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, confirming your waste was transferred to a licensed carrier and will be disposed of legally. Landlords, businesses, and contractors should keep these for at least 2 years as proof of duty of care compliance.
All waste collected by Clearway is taken to registered waste transfer stations and recycling facilities. We are committed to diverting as much waste from landfill as possible. Metals, wood, certain plastics, and clean textiles are segregated for recycling. Items in good condition may be donated or resold. Waste that cannot be recycled is disposed of at licensed facilities.
We cover 25 towns across 5 regions in the North of England:
For most collections, yes — someone should be present to show our team what needs removing and to sign off the job. For straightforward external collections (items left in a driveway, garden waste in bags) we may be able to arrange unattended collection with prior agreement. Please call us to discuss your specific situation.
